“Green” Printing
Thursday, July 16th, 2009
A few years back, printing is always being labeled as not environment friendly. As soon as a book is printed, a few trees are cut down in the rain forest and certain amount of green house gas is evaporated into the air from the petroleum-based ink. Recycled paper and soy ink were developed many years back but they were not easily accessible. Their price was high, sub-standard quality and stability, unstable availability. All these factors made eco-friendly printing not feasible.
We are at the turning point for a more environment friendly printing. We have a choice now. Unlike before, recycled paper or environment friendly paper are very accessible now. Soy ink offers stable color with satisfactory quality. It is almost painless to offer a eco-friendly printing process. I mentioned almost painless because the cost is a little bit higher when purchasing eco-friendly products. Businesses are very sensitive to cost in the current economy downturn so that “green” printing may not sound very attractive at this moment when most businesses are frighting for mere survival.
If we look from another angle, consumers are becoming more environmental aware. They are willing to pay a little bit more to help out the environment. “Green” printing can also be a good selling point to the customers because they do feel better to purchase books and magazines with recycled paper. Their purchase will not cause any trees in the rain forest to be trimmed downed. Working together with clients, we can make significant improvements to the environment.
The following are the eco-friendly services that we offer to our clients:
